The name
Everyone hears their own grandmother in it.
Meema is what Tunisians call their grandmother. It travels further than that. Jewish families in Brooklyn say Meemaw. So does half the American South.
It is a spoken name, not a formal one. You say it with your mouth full. That is roughly how we would like the whole thing to feel.
The founder
Slim Hamza grew up on a farm table and a tennis court.
As a junior he reached world No. 69 and played the Australian Open. He coaches full-time now — director of racquet sports at a country club in Maryland. A life built around fitness, real food, and staying level.
The oil is personal. It comes from the family’s farm in Tunisia, the one Meema herself bought for them. Every bottle is the harvest his family eats all year.

The farm
She bought the land. We just bottle what it does.
The grove sits two hours south of Tunis. It has fed one family for decades and it still does — what you buy is the surplus of a table, not the output of a factory. That is also why there is only ever one harvest a year to sell.
